The funeral for Lester John Bormann, 48, of Goose Lake was held Tuesday, Sept. 8, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston. He died Friday, Sept. 4, from injuries received in a traffic accident near Savanna, Ill.
Burial was in Center Grove Cemetery, Bryant.
Mr. Bormann was born July 15, 1939, near Green Island to Victor and Katherine Kilburg Bormann. He married Janice Dunn Feb. 7, 1959. He was a 1957 graduate of Preston High School and was owner-operator of Bormann Trucking since 1962.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Clinton County Farm Bureau and the Clinton County Cattlemen's Association.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Kimberlee) Point of Goose Lake; a son, Daniel, at home; a grandson; his parents of Preston; sisters, Mrs. Ed (Karen) Gibbs of Cedar Rapids and Phyllis Duhme of Preston; brothers, Allen, Loren and Greg, all of Preston, and Donald of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
1987
