Doris M. Schultz, 86, of Camanche passed away Monday, April 10, 2021 at Prairie Hills Assisted Living Clinton.
Funeral Services will be privately held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Doris Marie Damgaard was born November 20, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Clausen) Damgaard. She was married to Wilburt Arthur Schultz on June 14, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe (Neillsville), Wisconsin; he preceded her in death on June 13, 2002.
Doris did the bookkeeping at Schultz Alignment Center, the business that she and her husband established and operated. Doris was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, baptized at Immanuel Lutheran in Charlotte, Iowa and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran in Globe, Wisconsin.
She attended school at St. Paul Lutheran in Melrose Park, Illinois, Jehovah EV Lutheran and Christ EV Lutheran in Chicago, Illinois and Globe grade school in Globe Wisconsin. Doris was a 1951 graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Wisconsin.
When Doris and Wilburt moved to Camanche they established a group of charter members to get approval and then build Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was involved in Immanuel Womens circle, taught Sunday school, and weekday church school and bible school. She was active in Brownies, Cub Scouts, and was a Luther League leader and Alter Guild Member.
Doris is survived by her three children: Cindy (Anthony) Bennett of Park View, Iowa, Mark Schultz of Camanche and Rodney (Laura) Schultz of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren: Paul Schneider, Curt (Dawn Naas) Schneider, Sean (Amanda Rios) Bennett, Nicole Schultz (Michael) Powell, Tessa Schultz, Sierra Schultz (Cole) Watson, Brenna (Joe Homan) Schultz and Noah Schultz; four great grandchildren: Khaleesi, Aya, Maibon, and Benjamin.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister Mary Hribar, two brothers John Damgaard and Paul Damgaard (who passed away at the age of 3 in a car accident).
Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Camanche, or the Alzheimers Association.
