Rosalie "Rose" Alice James, 82, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Monday, March 1, 2021. Funeral services take place at 12 pm on Monday, March 8, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs two hours prior from 10 am until the service hour at the Funeral Home. The funeral service will be live streamed on the "Lemke Funeral Home" Facebook page. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Rosalie was born May 5, 1938 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Clyde and Georgia (DeGroff) Andrews. She was a graduate of Clinton High School.
Rosalie was united in marriage to Jackie "Jack" James on April 3, 1956 in Bettendorf, Iowa. They were together for 60 years until Jack's passing in 2016.
She was a waitress for many years, ending her career at the Eagles Supermarket -Deli Department.
Upon retirement, Rosalie and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially traveling to NASCAR events and spending time at their winter home in Florida. Later she enjoyed fishing and playing cards with her lady friends and sister Clevetta Ward. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
Rosalie is survived by one daughter - Debora (Steve) Sandholdt of Clinton, IA; three sons - Jack (Barb) James of Mackinaw, IL, Tim (Anne) James of Clear Water, FL and Doug (Kim) James of Saint Louis, MO; ten grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister - Clevetta (Harold) Ward of Clinton; with several nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends - Nellie and Shelley and many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Jack; two sisters - Shari and Carole and two brothers - Clyde and Jack.
