James Loras Kedly

February 22, 1947 - February 14, 2021

DeWitt-James Loras Kedly, 73, died Sunday evening, February 14, 2021, at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton.

He was born February 22, 1947, in Long Beach, California, to the late Harold and Margaret (Reed) Kedley. Jim attended St. Joseph School from which he graduated in 1965. He graduated from Loras College, Dubuque in 1969 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics. He married Laurel Yegge March 6, 1970, in DeWitt. He earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration while residing in Illinois. Jim was employed by Outboard Marine Corporation, J.I. Case and Total Realty of DeWitt.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing, rooting for the Chicago Bears and spending time with his family and friends. Jim enjoyed his work and loved collecting John Deere toys and memorabilia. Above all, Jim was an avid fan of his son Chad's baseball career.

Surviving are his wife, Laurel; son, Chad (Charlotte) Kedley, Phoenix, Arizona; beloved granddaughter whom he adored, Payton; siblings, Bill (Karen) Kedley, Sodis Bay, New York, Jerry (Nancy) Kedley, Clinton, Trish LaLonde, Rochester, New York, Celine Kedley, DeWitt and Fresno, California, and Joan (Joe) Motsinger, Boulder, Colorado; brother-in-law, Douglas (Teresa) Yegge, Clinton; special niece, Alicia Renee Herlihy and numerous nieces and nephews whom Jim was very proud of.

Visitation will be at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday with a vigil service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt and will be streamed at https://www.facebook.com/schultzfuneralhomes/live. The Rev. Fr. Stephen Page will officiate with burial at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.
