On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, Margaret N. Landis, loving wife and mother of two children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren passed away at the age of 94.
Margaret was born April 15, 1926, in Galesburg, Illinois to Harold and Eunice Nelson. She attended Knox College in Galesburg. At Knox College, she became a sister of Delta Delta Delta sorority and earned her a BSN, RN degree. Following graduation, Margaret was an instructor in the School of Nursing at Cottage Hospital.
She married Benjamin Landis on April 11, 1953, in Galesburg. Margaret joined Ben in Clinton, Iowa where she became a full-time housewife and mother. She later became a grandmother and eventually a great-grandmother. Family was the greatest joy of her life.

She was an active member of The First United Methodist Church, P.E.O Sisterhood, Clinton Country Club Auxiliary and Golf Association, Alpha Delphians Literary Society, Visiting Nurses Association, and the former Agatha Auxiliary for Jane Lamb Hospital. She also played golf throughout her life, enjoyed bowling, and had a passion for her bridge clubs.
Margaret moved to Olathe, Kansas in 2016 where she was surrounded by a loving family. While living in Olathe, she became a member of The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, joined a local P.E.O. Chapter, and continued to play bridge.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents (Harold and Eunice), her sister (Mary Lou), and her husband (Ben). She is survived by her children Anne (Brent) Owen of Des Moines, IA and John (Laura) Landis of Lenexa, KS.; grandchildren Jason (Ashley) and Matthew (Carla) Owen and Rachael (fiancée Greg) and Lisa Landis; and her three great-grandchildren Oliver, Brooks, and Conner Owen.
