Joseph L. Krainz, 87, of Camanche passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center - Clinton.
His remains will be buried with his wife at the Clinton Lawn Cemetery in the spring. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Joseph Lee Krainz was born January 10, 1934 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Mary (Bia) Krainz. He was a 1952 graduate of Frontenac High School in Kansas. He married JoAnn Carlton on October 4, 1952 in Pittsburg, Kansas; she preceded him in death on September 3, 2019.
Joe worked as a Pipefitter Local Union 25. He was initiated into the Union on July 1, 1956 and was in good standing until he passed. He enjoyed boating and spending time on the river; he and his wife even lived in their house boat year around for a time. He enjoyed traveling and time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two sons: Wayne (Sheila) Krainz of Camanche and Keith (Kim) Krainz of Camanche; two grandchildren: Shannon Barry of Davenport and Stacy (Jason) Paulsen of Cedar Falls, Iowa; seven great grandchildren: Madelynn, Kambrynn, Casey, Ryan, Trevor, Ethan, and Chase; and one sister: Janice Cook of Camanche.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn and his parents.
