Connie Kay Schultz, age 73, of DeWitt, Iowa, went to her eternal home Monday evening, January 18, 2021, at Trinity Unity Point Medical Center, Rock Island, Illinois.

She was born January 29, 1947, to Ervin and Lois (Carber) Meier in Davenport. Connie married Joe Fatchett in 1966 and was blessed with two daughters, Judi and Shelly. They later divorced. In 1979, Connie married Wayne Schultz from Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1996. She then came back to her hometown of Dewitt to be with family.

Connie was known for her kindness, giving nature and loving personality. She took care of many elderly people in the DeWitt area. Connie was frequently seen at United Manor in DeWitt caring for multiple people. She would run various errands, do housework, paperwork, etc. Connie worked at H & R Block in DeWitt before retiring. If you knew Connie, you saw how proud she was of her children and lit up when she talked about her grandchildren. She would not miss a sporting event, graduation, or birthday party for any of her grandkids. Connie also enjoyed helping coach Dad’s Club softball in Davenport with her daughter, Shelly.

Surviving are her daughters, Judi (Clarence) Meade of Davenport and Shelly Davis of Moline, Illinois; her grandchildren, Audi (Kevin Walbridge) Anderson, Rebecca (Chase Knizekewich) Meade, Nick Bertram, Samantha Meade, Kristen Bertram, and Ava Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Richard Meier, Robert Meier, Carla Garrity, and Ervin Meier, Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021. A service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Marlin-Warfield officiating.

A special thank you to Thomas Ade and all of the other surgeons, physicians and nurse practitioners who took part in her health management. A VERY special thank you to UnityPoint- Rock Island 7 North for your care and dedication. Taking care of their patients is unmatchable and we could not have asked for a better support team.
