The Clinton Herald Tuesday March 11, 1941 p. 5 Mrs. Barbara Manemann, 79, of 2619 North Second Street, Jackson county native, died at 10:45 o'clock this morning in Mercy hospital following an illness of only three days' duration. The solemn requiem high mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Boniface church. The Rev. J.J. Schoenfelder of Harper, cousin of the deceased, will be the celebrant, the Rev. L.A. Rhoret of St. Boniface church, deacon, and the Rev. Nicholas Meinhardt of Sacred Heart church, sub-deacon. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. The body will repose in the family home, beginning Wednesday morning. Barbara Brinkmann was born Jan. 16, 1862, at Browns Station, the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Joseph Brinkmann. She and Henry Manemann were married Jan. 22, 1879, in St. Boniface church. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary society. Surviving are six children, Mrs. Caroline Droste, Mrs. Clem (Eva) Droste, B.H. Manemann, Mrs. Clara Manning, Mrs. Leo N. (Elizabeth) Rosenberger and Mrs. R.E. (Lena) Walton, all of the Clinton community; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Robert Powers of Preston, Mrs. Henry Arkenberg of Browns Station, Mrs. Richard Powers of Delmar and Mrs. John F. Dolan of Doughterty, and three brothers, John Brinkman of Estherville, Henry of Austin, Minn., and Joseph of Cavour, S.D. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, a daughter, Margaret, and a son, Jacob.
