The Clinton Herald Thursday October 7, 1965 p. 11 Leo N. Rosenberger, 74, 752 4th Ave. S., a life resident of Clinton, died unexpectedly at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday in his home. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's church, preceded by a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. in the Delaney funeral home. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation at Delaney's will begin at 7:30 p.m. today. St. Mary's parish members will recite the rosary in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Mr. Rosenberger was born March 10, 1891, in Clinton, the son of Otto and Gertrude Sauerwine Rosenberger. He was married March 12, 1915, in St. Boniface church to Barbara Manemann. The would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary next Tuesday. Mr. Rosenberger was employed more than 52 years by The Clinton Herald, retiring Feb. 27, 1960. He began work Aug. 6, 1906, as a composing room apprentice. He had been a member of Local 334 of the Typographical Union more than 50 years. He served eight years as secretary of the local union and also as secretary of the Linecasting Machinists Association of Iowa and also on that organization's executive board. He was the first Herald employee to complete 50 years of service with the organization. Mr. Rosenberger is survived by his wife; three sons, Vernon O. and Robert H. Rosenberger of Clinton, and Leo C. Rosenberger of Deerfield, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Robert E. (Betty) Cavanaugh, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
