The funeral of the late George Carber was held from the home of his son, Elmer (the Carber homestead), Tuesday afternoon with services at the M. E. church at 2 o'clock by Rev. Baily of Martell, Iowa. The funeral was largely attended and many beautiful floral offerings were sent. The pallbearers were A. M. Price, L. N. Williams and Charles Arthur of DeWitt and F. J. Lessin, Lee Robeson and Patrick Hirl of this place. Edward Carber and Mrs. Blanch Carber Goodlad of Stickney, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Verne Carber, of Felton, Ill., and Miss Carrie Carber of Davenport came to attend the funeral of their father. The Carber family wish to sincerely thank their friends and neighbors for their kindness, sympathy and assistance extended in their late bereavement.
