Frederick "Fritz" L. Dalton, 79, of Camanche passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Alverno Health Care Facility - Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Dalton, Brian Dalton, Trace Dalton, Rob Dalton, Ellen Dalton, Mary Anne Kessler and Chris McDanel. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting his obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Frederick Leo Dalton was born February 1, 1941, Clinton County, Iowa, the son of Harold and Mary Ellen (Forret) Dalton. He was a 1959 graduate of Grand Mound High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. On February 28, 1964 he married Minnie Beckham in Houghton, Louisiana; she preceded him in death on December 10, 1995.
Fritz made his career as a truck driver, working for several local trucking companies, and retiring from Roadway Express after 21 years as a city driver. He enjoyed watching all sports but his favorite was the NFL. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, claiming the status as a 'Vikings fan from day ONE'. When he could, he enjoyed playing video poker at the local casinos, and could often be found enjoying a cold Budweiser at a local tap.
He is survived by his four children: Rick Dalton of Redwood City, California, Anita Dalton of Camanche, Brian (Donna) Dalton of Pflugerville, Texas and Dan (Tara) Dalton of Easton, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren: Madison and Mallory Good of Camanche, Trace Dalton of Pflugerville, Texas and Luke Dalton of Easton, Pennsylvania; two brothers: Doug Dalton of DeWitt and Robert Dalton of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
Fritz was preceded in death by his wife; parents, granddaughter Alejandra Dalton and brother Ed Dalton.
