Miles--Funeral services for Henry August Menneke were held Wednesday afternoon at the Miles Congregational church with Rev. Comb of the Methodist church officiating.
Mr. Menneke was born August 10, 1854 and passed away at his home in Miles December 19, following a long illness.
He was united in marriage to Miss Sadie Smith August 3, 1883. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Laura Sanderson, of Clinton, Al Menneke and Mrs. Effie Fuller also of Clinton, Fed Menneke of Miles and Art of Savanna, Ill., all of whom with his wife survive. There are also 12 grandchildren and two sisters and one brother left to mourn his death.
The following people were out of town friends attending the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Hanssen, Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Hanssen of Monticello, Mrs. Lena Tate of Beloit, Mr. and Mrs. Allie Menneke of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sanderson, daughter Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fuller of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Menneke of Savanna, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith of Sabula, Mr. and Mrs. John McMahon of Sabula, Mrs. Marvin Tompkins of Sabula, Mrs. A. J. Hysle of Clinton, Mrs. May Menneke, Mr. and Mrs. Lorn Rice, Mr. Bert Menneke of Preston.
