Clinton Advertiser
August 31, 1894

The funeral of Frank Callahan occurred Monday, with burial at Villanova. Those who drove out, and there was a long line of carriages, report the dust suffocating.

Mr. Callahan had reached the ripe old age of 82 years, and passed away simply by the wearing out of the golden cord of life - his faculties having gradually failed him. He leaves a widow, the mother of Mrs. N.J. Furlong of Clinton, and a son John, by his first wife. She also lies buried in Villanova, her death occurring some twenty-five years ago. He was born in county Armagh, Ireland and came to Clinton 46 years ago where he has since resided and where he amassed his fortune by hard work on the farm near Villanova. He was a faithful friend, a kind neighbor and a good citizen, loving the country of his adoption with all the loyalty typical of the Irish race.
