Eugene Zimmer, a life-time resident of this city, died this morning at 10:30 at Mercy hospital, following an illness of about a year's duration. Mr. Zimmer was born in Clinton on December 8, 1879, and has always lived here. On October 22, 1902, he was united in marrieage to Margaret Rodemacher of this city, and to this union four children were born, who survive, with the mother to mourn their loss. They are Dorothy, Vivian, Vernon and Darlene. He also leaves two half-sisters, Mrs. Harry Lass and Mrs. Otto Zastrow, and a number of aunts and uncles in Prophetstown, Illinois.
Mr. Zimmer has recently been a valued employe of Curtis Brothers and company, engaged as millwright in that plant. He was a man of pleasing personality, genial disposition, and was a good father and husband. The news of his death was read today with great regret by his many friends here.
Funeral services for Eugene Zimmer will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick's church. Burial will be made in Springdale cemetery.
