Clinton Advertiser, June 28, 1920
Intelligence has reaches this city to the effect that Miss Edith M. Lenon, a former Clinton resident, passed away Sunday noon at a Chicago hospital, after suffering a paralytic stroke on last Friday, from which she failed to rally. She has been ailing for the past few months. However, she was well on the road to recovery until she was overtaken by the shock of her mothers' death which occurred about six weeks ago. Saturday her father, Patrick Lenon of this city, was called to Chicago on account of her serious condition and was with her at the time of her death.
The deceased was born in this city about 48 years ago and had made her home here for a number of years. She was an instructor in the Clinton schools until she went to Chicago about 20 years ago, where she has since resided. Her father is the only survivor.
Joe O'Neill leaves this evening for Chicago to attend the funeral which will be held on Tuesday morning from the home 473 East 30th street, followed by interment beside her mother, who was buried in Chicago.
