Jane L. Dunlavy, age 93, of Clinton, passed away Friday November 29, 2019 at The Alverno. A Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be held Monday, December 2, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Pape Funeral Home and Tuesday 9:30 AM until the service hour at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Jane was born on September 23, 1926 in Andover, Iowa, the daughter of John and Melinda (Aude) Rittmer. She married Joseph Dunlavy on April 18, 1949 at St. Boniface Church, Clinton, IA; he died in 2012. Jane was a homemaker and had worked at the Clinton Garment Factory in Clinton as a seamstress for over 15 years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Women of the Moose, Foresters, and the YWCA. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, reading novels, going out to lunch, playing Bingo at the Moose, and family Holiday dinners. Jane was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Bulls fan.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Gerald) Brown of Clinton; her granddaughter, Larissa (Jeremy) Van Zuiden of Clinton; three step grandchildren, Julie Brown, Jeff Brown, and Jill Bresnan; 10 step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Erin Christine, her son-in-law, Daniel Kraft, a brother, Harvey Rittmer, and three sisters, Fern Hartz, Vera Miller, and Joan Dunn.
