Funeral services were held for David E. Leslie, 26, of Lost Nation at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at the Assembly of God Church, Oxford Junction. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. The Rev. Earl Gott officiated at the services. Hayden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
David Leslie died in his home on Sunday, April 13 following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 2, 1953 in Maquoketa, to Melvin and Mary Philips Leslie. They lived in St. Louis, MO until December, 1978, when the family moved to Lost Nation.
Survivors are his parents; one sister, Mrs. Phyllis Alexander of Port Washington, WI; one nephew, two nieces and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. George Leslie, Sr. of Oxford Junction.
Preceding him in death were one brother and his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
Pallbearers were Scott Zaruba, Jeff Leslie, Don Martin, David Vacek, Eric Leslie and Rick Logan. Organist was Peggy Leslie and vocalists were Mrs. David Vacek and Rev. and Mrs. Earl Gott.
