Janice C. Bannick 81, of Bettendorf passed away, Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the Bettendorf Health Care Facility - Bettendorf, Iowa.
Memorial Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. A family burial will take place at the Inland Cemetery - Bennett, Iowa. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.
Janice Carol Greve was born on October 12, 1938 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Claus John and Irma Jean (Switzer) Greve. She married Robert Thomas Gallagher on May 17, 1958 in Fulton. She later married Mearl George Bannick on August 2, 1991 in Rock Island; he died June 24, 1967.
Janice attended William & Mary College school of nursing and later the University of Texas at Arlington. She spent more than 38 years (1976-2014) in automotive accounting. She was at one time the only female fraud accountant for the General Motors Holding Division. She was a feisty, animal loving, and giving person.
Janice leaves behind two daughters: Angela Jeanne Gallagher (Fred Gerber) of Davenport, Iowa, Carol Ellen Gallagher of Buford, Georgia; two grandchildren: Samuel Cooper of College Station, Texas and Emily Cooper of Atlanta; three sisters: Naomi J. Reuter (Vernard) of Clinton, Iowa, Myrna P. Dinwiddie (Russell) of Cordova, Illinois, and Arvilla B. Mickelson (Sam) of Bettendorf, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The family would like to thank Jennifer Aanestad, MD and Ravinder Pal Bhatti, MD for helping Janice navigate her health issues. Our hearts go out to the staff at Petersen Commons Assisted Living, Bettendorf Health Care Center, and Heartland Hospice for their loving care.
