Last rites were held Saturday at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland for Mrs. Clara Knabel, 66. The Rev. Paul Jordan and Father E. W. Loosebrock officiated. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery, Wheatland.

Mrs. Knabel died Thursday in the Jackson County Public hospital, Maquoketa.

Pallbearers were Larry Davis, Richard McKee, Sherwood Knabel, Gary Van Pelt, Larry Stolte and Don Knabel. Graveside rites were conducted by Garland Chapter 507 Order of Eastern Star.

The deceased was born August 25, 1883, in Clinton County, the daughter of Henry and Louisa Schneider. She married Henry Knabel on Dec. 9, 1908. She spent her entire life in Wheatland until four years ago when she went to live with her daughter in Maquoketa.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Garland Chapter 507 OES and Past Matron's Club at Wheatland.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Adeline Mowry of Lowden and Mrs. Keith (Evelyn) Van Pelt of Maquoketa; two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Ackerman of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and Miss Verna Schneider of Wheatland; also four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, 4 brothers and one granddaughter.
