Mrs. Ernest Mielke, aged 72 years, died at 6 o'clock last night at her home in this city, after a lingering illness with Bright's disease and other complications.

Deceased was born in Holstein, Germany, December 12, 1843 and came to America in 1871. She was united in marriage to Ernest Mielke in 1882. She first lived in Scott county and after her marriage came to Clinton county, where she has lived ever since.

She is survived by six children, Mrs. Gus Seifert of this city, with whom she made her home, five sons, Chris and James of Bryant, Charles of West Side, Theodore of Charlotte and Louis of Andover. She is also survived by two brothers living in Portland, Oregon. Her husband died thirteen years ago.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Seifert, on Chicago street. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
