Word was received here this morning of the death of Augustus Gabriel formerly of this city, his death occurring at Cherokee, Ia.

The remains will be brought to this city for burial and are expected to reach here Wednesday morning. Funeral services were conducted at Cherokee, but a short service will be conducted at the Shadduck chapel before the funeral which will take place Wednesday afternoon.

Services will be in charge of Rev. Ernest Stockley. Mr. Gabriel was a member of the G.A.R. He leaves two children, Mrs. O. B. Peters, of Cherokee, Ia., and H. A. Gabriel of Huntingberg, Ind., who will be here for the funeral.

Interment will be in Oakland cemetery.

H. A. Gabriel of Huntington, Indiana, arrived here at noon today to complete funeral arrangements for the remains of his father, formerly living at Cherokee, Iowa.

The body will arrive here Wednesday morning and the funeral will be held from the Shadduck Undertaking parlors at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday noon. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery.

The remains will be accompanied by Mrs. O. B. Peters of Cherokee.

The remains of the late Augustus Gabriel, who died at his home in Cherokee, Iowa, arrived in this city this morning and were taken to the Shadduck Undertaking parlors, from which place the funeral services were held at 12:30 by Rev. W. Ernest Stockley, pastor of the Grace Episcopal church. The pall bearers were T. T. Ashton, H. J. Roff, George H. Cook, Charles Johnson, S. C. Rand and William Heuple. Interment was made in Oakland. Mrs. O. B. Peters of Cherokee, Iowa, and H. A. Gabriel of Huntingsburg, Ind., were here to attend the funeral.
