Mrs. Maye Belle Martha Gibson, daughter of Simon and Anna Tyson Tolson, was born in Lyons, Iowa, December 15, 1895. Here she began her school work but on account of ill health was unable to complete the high school course.

On March 12, 1914, she was united in marriage to Mr. Archibald R. Gibson of Clinton. About a week later they moved to Mason City where they have since resided.

Mrs. Gibson was baptized in infancy and when old enough became a member of the Lyons Presbyterian Sunday school. Her interest in the work developed with the years, and on April 5, 1909, she made a public profession of her faith in Christ and was received into the membership of the church, of which she continued a member until death.

Physically she was never very strong. About a year ago she had an attack of inflammatory rheumatism, and was in a critical condition for some time, but form this she apparently recovered. Her last illness began on Tuesday, March 2. On the Thursday following she continued to grow worse until the end came on Tuesday, March 9, 1915. Her death was due to a complication of diseases.

From remarks dropped by her of late, she must have had a premonition of the nearness of death. In disposition, she was cheerful, social and a great favorite with all her companions. Thus passed away on the very threshold of life an active, busy woman, who by her death brings us all the solemn lesson that we know not the day nor the hour when our work here may terminate.

Mrs. Gibson leaves to mourn her death, her husband, a little babe, who was just two months old on the day of her death, her father and mother of this city, five sisters, Mrs. Florence Perido, Elk River, Mrs. Hattie Howard, Preston, Mrs. Anna Smith, Cuba City, Wis., Mrs. Goldirean Bertholl, Savanna, Ill., Mrs. Sylvia Nicholas, Plattville, Wis., and four brothers, John E. of Lyons, Simon of Danville, Ill., Hiram, Des Moines, and Benjamin of Clinton, all of whom are present today. Her body will sleep in Oakland cemetery.
