Funeral services for the late John Crapser were held yesterday afternoon at Elvira in the Lutheran church. Interment was made in the family lot where his wife was buried several years ago. Mr. Crapser, who was 80 years of age, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Smith of Monticello, last Tuesday, the result of an attack of lung fever. He lived for several years in DeWitt, being the proprietor of the grist mill. For the past few years he made his home at Monticello with his daughter. He leaves seven children, Mrs. Fred Smith of Monticello; Mrs. Henry Greve of Lyons, Edward of Elvira, Charles of Mason City, Bert of Sterling, Ill., Sam, also living in Illinois and Earl, whose residence was not at preset known. Also one brother, Alva Crapser of Lyons. All were present at the funeral with the exception of one son, Earl. Mr. Crapser was a good citizen and held in high repute by all his acquaintances.

Low Moor, Ia., March 27--The remains of the aged father of Ed Crapser who died at Cedar Rapids, arrived here Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Services were held at Elvira on Friday where the body was laid to rest in the cemetery at that place.

John Crapser was born December 5, 1837 at Livingston county, New York, died at Monticello, Iowa, March 23, 1915, aged 77 years, three months, 18 days. He was married to Miss Kate Stinson Tyler April 3, 1859. To this union were born ten children, who are Anna Ellis Greve, Albert and Alva (twins), W. Edward, Helen Augusta, Samuel Tyler, Charles Emmett, Herbert Clarke, Earl Hill and Cora Belle Smith. Three children, Albert, Alva and Helen passed away in infancy, the wife and mother died June 9, 1899. He also leaves one brother, Albert, of Lyons. The funeral took place Friday afternoon in the Lutheran church at Elvira. Friends who acted as pall bearers were W. L. Traver, Wm. Rice, Elmer Traver, C. A. Reed, M. J. Ingerson and Roger Mahan.
