GLORIA F. BIERMANN, 89, of Clinton, IA, died Friday, November 1, 2019, at The Alverno Health Care Facility, in Clinton.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Community Reformed Church in Clinton with Rev. Bob Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society, Community Reformed Church Mission Fund, and Mercy One Hospice.
Gloria was born May 30, 1930, in Fulton, IL, to Donald R. and Nellie G. (Buikema) DeWeerdt. She attended Fulton Grade schools and High School and graduated from Morrison, IL, High School in 1948. She married James R. Andresen on November 11, 1950, in Clinton, IA. He died in October 1951. She later married Gene Biermann on November 25, 1953, in Fulton, IL. She worked at the Morrison Farm Bureau, Dwaine Van Buer Insurance Agency, and at Petersen Harned Von Mauer. Gloria was a charter member of Community Reformed Church in Clinton, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the church circle. Gloria was a member of the Lionettes, Gideon Auxiliary, and Wa-Tan-Ye in Morrison.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; one daughter, Gayle (Roger) Dykstra of Thomson, IL; two sisters, Joan Heusinkveld of Morrison, IL, and Donna (Alfred) Dykstra of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Gena Biermann and one son, Gerry Biermann.
