Dennis Hennessy, aged 82, died at his home, 538 Camanche avenue, at 5:30 a.m. today from hardening of the arteries. He was one of the earliest settlers of Clinton. He came here with the railroad, helping to build the Northwestern bridge. He came here to live in 1854 or '55 and has lived here since. He was in the employ of the Northwestern before that time and remained with them until pensioned eight years ago.

Mr. Hennessy had been gradually failing for the past year. He is survived by three daughters and a son Mrs. Elizabeth Katen, of Chicago; Mary E. Hennessy and Mrs. J. B. Farrell of Clinton and John Hennessy of Memphis, Tenn. He was widely known in Clinton.

Funeral services have not yet been arranged. They will be held at St. Mary's church, but the date has not yet been set.

Funeral services for Dennis Hennessy were held Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's church. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery.
