John W. Carr age 82 of Camanche, passed away Monday Aug. 12, 2019 at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held Friday 11:00 AM at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. John was born Nov. 17, 1936 in Clinton, the son of Edra and Leola (Scott) Carr. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1956. John served in the US Army from 1956 to 1959. He married Carol Jones on June 20, 1965 in Clinton. John worked as a TV and Radio Repairman in Camanche for many years. He enjoyed fishing, finding snails, and using his computer.
John is survived by his wife, Carol Carr of Camanche; his five children, Dawn Carr of Clinton, Shelly (Eric) Fredrick of McHenry, IL, John B. Carr of Clinton, Elizabeth (Robert) Bauer of Hazel Green, WI, and Jennifer (Jason) Lee of Camanche; seven grandchildren, Steven, Austin, Willow, Devyn, John, Reilly, and Connor; his brother, Robert Kelley of Hazelton, IA; and his two sisters, Sharon Feigel and Leola Hoagland both of Mason City, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
