Mrs. John Dittmar, aged 51 years, passed away about three o'clock this morning at her home, 224 North Third street, after a brief illness. On last Tuesday Mrs. Dittmar was taken ill with tonsillitis which later developed into a complication of diseases. The news of her death will be received with regret by her friends, many of whom did not know she was ill.

Mary Shrove was born at Loren, Stevenson county, Ill., on August 20, 1864. On June 30th, 1881, she was united in marriage to John Dittmar at Mt. Carroll, Ill. Later they moved to Lyons, where they have made their home for a number of years. Deceased was very active in lodge circles and was a member of Grant Grove, Woodmen Circle, Palm Camp, No. 1350, R.N.A. White Fawn Pocahontas, Auxiliary to the Red Men, and the Mystic Workers of the World. In several of these lodges she held office.

Left to mourn her death is her husband and three children, Mrs. Hans Sorensen and Laurence Dittmar of this city, and Mrs. Roy Bonney of Bogalausa, Louisiana. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Rebecca Hansmann, one sister, Mrs. Nathan Ross, of this city, and three brothers, Henry and Sam Shrove of Milledgeville, Ill. and Jack Kries of East Moline; also nine grandchildren.

The funeral arrangements have not yet been made, awaiting news from Mrs. Bonney in Louisiana.

The funeral of the late Mrs. John Dittmar was held yesterday afternoon with a short prayer at her home on North Third street by the Rev. W. Ernest Stockley, and at 2 o'clock the Episcopal burial service was conducted at the Grace Episcopal church by Rev. Stockley. Many relatives, friends and neighbors were present at the services, which were most impressive. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. The pall bearers were Carl David, Charles Mader, Ernest Gheer, Henry Kisting, Hans Wulf and Peter Reimers. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Bessie Bonney, Bogalusa, La; Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Shrove and son, Harry, Milledgeville, Ill.; Samuel Shrove, Milledgeville, Ill.; Jack Krise, East Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Lola Taylor, Milledgeville; Henry Clark, Stockton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. e. Matcke, Mossbark, Ill.; Fred Dunbar, Berrymore, Ill.; Lawrence Dittmar, Stockton, Ill.; Nathen Mey, Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Grace Mey, Moline, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Casper Dittmar, Mt. Carroll, Ill.; Misses Addie and Margaret Dittmar, Mt. Carroll; Chris Dittmar, Mr. Carroll; Mrs. Sadie Campmeyer, Pearl City, Ill.; Mrs. Charlotte Barndt, Thomson, Ill.
