Arthur Bigwood, aged 20, residing at 225 Parker street, Clinton, was killed about 5 o'clock Sunday evening, by a Northwestern freight train west-bound the accident occurring at Sterling. He was accompanied by Lyle Hansen of 1105 North Third street, Clinton, who was held by the authorities as a witness for the coroner's inquest held this afternoon.
The family of the young man who was killed was notified of his death, and Hansen's family was notified of his being held as a witness to testify as to the manner of his companion's death at the inquest. A United Press dispatch to the ADVERTISER mentions the inquest briefly as follows: Sterling, Ill., Oct. 22.--A coroner's inquest today was to determine the responsibility for the death of Arthur Bigwood, 20, of Clinton, Iowa, who was killed late yesterday when he fell from a Northwestern freight train here. Lyle Hansen, also of Clinton, who was with Bigwood, is under arrest. He said he and Bigwood were stealing a ride from Dixon, Ill.

The funeral of Arthur Bigwood, who met a tragic death Sunday evening at Sterling, was held from the home this afternoon. Rev. G. R. Cady of the Congregational church, had charge of the services and Mrs. M. E. Anderson sang. Burial was made in Springdale cemetery.
