Funeral services for Herman Peter Meyer, 54, Wheatland, were held June 24 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland with the Rev. Harold Koenig officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery. Elwood Fueling was the vocalist, accompanied by Wilma Riedesel.

Pallbearers were F. William Schneider, Roger Beuthien, Carl Hillman, Lester and Raymond Fox, and Delmar Bentrott. Mrs. F. Willaim Schneider and Mrs. Roger Beuthien were in charge of flowers. The Chapman funeral home was in charge.

Mr. Meyer died at University hospital, Iowa City, June 21 where he had been a patient for 8 weeks. Before that he had spent 6 weeks in a DeWitt hospital.

Herman Meyer, son of William and Anna Giebelstein Meyer, was born on a farm southwest of Wheatland. He was married to Florence Fisher in Bennett Dec. 2, 1931. He was a life-long farmer. He was a member of St. Paul's church.

He is survived by his wife; 2 sons, John, DeWitt, and Virgil, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Merwyn (Joyce) Scheckel, DeWitt; 2 granddaughters, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
