Matthew L. H. Smith, a former resident of this city, but now of Waukeegan, Ill., died suddenly in Philadelphia, according to word received in this city. The funeral was held in Waukeegan today.

He is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ellen Smith of this city.

Mrs. M. Delaney, George D. Reynolds and Miss Margaret Ellen Smith are in Waukeegan, Ill., today to attend the funeral.
