MRS. JOHN STRECKFUS
Funeral services for the late Mrs. John Streckfus were held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning from Sacred Heart church in Rock Island, Ill., with Father C. P. O'Neill officiating. Burial was made in Calvary cemetery and the pallbearers were Louis Winter, Robert Winter, Harry Mangan, Edward Koch, Fred Kahike and C. J. Larkin.
Mrs. Streckfus, before her marriage, was Miss Theresa Bartermeier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bartermeier, a prominent Davenport resident. She was born May 6, 1858, in Davenport. She was married to Captain Streckfus Nov. 21, 1880.
Mr. and Mrs. Streckfus made their home in Rock Island until five years ago when the headquarters of the Streckfus line was removed to St. Louis and the family has since resided in that city.
Surviving are the husband Captain Streckfus, four sons, Joseph, Roy, John Jr., and Verne; three daughters, Mrs. Fowler Manning of New York City, Mrs. Edward Manthey of New Orleans and Miss May Streckfus of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. M. Mangan of Davenport, Mrs. V. Dauber and Mrs. F. Winter of Rock Island and one brother, J. A. Bartermeier of Washington, D. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Oakes of this city attended the funeral.
