Grand Mound, Ia., Oct. 2--Another home is saddened when on last Friday morning death entered the home of Wm. Griebel, northwest of town, and claimed for its own the beloved wife and mother who for the past few months had been a patient sufferer with a complication of diseases following an attack of pleurisy. Hannah Boetel daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dietrick Boetel, was born April 4, 1869, at New Tesdorf, Holstein, Germany. At the age of four years with her parents she came to America and has since resided in the neighborhood of Grand Mound. On Nov. 17, 1890, she was married to Mr. Wm. Griebel, the union being blessed with four daughters. Since her marriage the deceased has lived on their farm northwest of Grand Mound where she enjoyed a happy and prosperous life. It had been planned to move to Grand Mound into the new modern home now being erected where she might spend the remainder of her life in well deserved retirement, but her Maker willed it otherwise when on Sept. 28 she was called to her reward at the age of 48 years 5 months and 24 days. She leaves besides her sorrow stricken husband, her four daughters, Mrs. Jno. Nelson, Mrs. Chris Grau and Clara and Hattie, still at home, 2 grand children, 3 sisters and one brother, besides a large number of relatives and friends whose sympathy goes out to those bereft of a kind and loving wife and mother. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon services being conducted by Rev. Louis Esenbach at the German Lutheran church. Floral offerings were beautiful and abundant, eight nieces acting as flower girls.

Bearers of the pall were eight neighbors and friends Louis Schoenfeldt, Henry Hamer, Henry Vetter, Henry Pinter, P. H. Blunck and Wm. Ehlers. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery, Undertaker J. W. Kelly having charge.
