Walter Nickelsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Nickelsen of Second avenue, passed away at Agatha hospital at 12:15 o'clock this morning, following an operation for appendicitis.

The deceased, whose death brings regret to many friends in Clinton and vicinity, was born on September 1, 1901. He was a student at the High school. Surviving him are his parents and his brothers and sisters, Louis, Leonard, Anna, Esther and Bernice.

The funeral will be held Thursday, with services at the home at 2 o'clock p.m., and at St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2:30. Interment will be in Springdale cemetery.

The funeral of the late Walter Nickelsen was held this afternoon from the home on Second avenue. Services were held at 2 o'clock at the family residence, in charge of Rev. J. S. Leamer, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, and at 2:30 services were held at the church, the cortege then proceeding to Springdale cemetery. The pall bearers were Herbert Nickelsen, Harold Ugarph, Ernest Rohwer, Harry Rohwer, Herbert Van Alton and Arthur Edens.

Among those from out of the city who attended the services this afternoon were: Mrs. Brennan and family, Chicago; Mrs. C. C. Nickelsen, Morrison; John Nickelsen, Morrison; Herbert Nickelsen, Morrison; Miss Norma Nickelsen, Morrison; Mr. and Mrs. John Van Alton, Davenport; Herbert Van Alton, Davenport; Herman Van Alton, Davenport; Mrs. Papenbrok, Davenport; Harry Hansen, member of Co. B, 350th Iowa Infantry, Camp Dodge.
