Henry Plath died suddenly at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, death being due to heart failure. During the afternoon Mr. Plath had been in Clinton and was taken ill on his way home. He stopped off at the Peter Smith home on Commercial street, and a physician was summoned, but before the doctor reached the home Mr. Plath had passed away.
The deceased was born in Center township November 10th, 1867. He had lived in the vicinity of Charlotte until about eight years ago when he came to this city and has been rooming at the Schanepel home, 513 Commercial street.
His wife died about sixteen years ago and no near relatives survive. The funeral will be held from the home at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon. Short services will be held at the grave and burial will be made in Glahn cemetery near Goose Lake.

The funeral of the late Martin Plath was held Monday afternoon from the residence of Conrad Schnepel of Commercial street. Rev. Hugo Grimm pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, officiated. Burial was in the Glahn cemetery.
Those attending the casket were Ray Steege, Conrad Schnepel, Henry M. Drews, Edward Drews, Herbert Drews and Mathes Bielenbert.
