Alice (Truelsen) Stuedemann, 97, of Camanche, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, September 6, 2019, at The Alverno, Clinton, Iowa.

Alice was born on September 13, 1921, to Albert and Roseland (Walker) Truelsen, in rural DeWitt, Iowa. She married Allan Stuedemann, February 22, 1949, in DeWitt, Iowa.

Alice was a lady of many hobbies and took pride in what she did. Her seams in sewing were always perfect. If she saw a mistake while she was knitting or crocheting, no matter if no one else noticed, she would pull the yarn out back to the mistake to fix it. She enjoyed embroidery in her younger days, making beautiful kitchen towels out of feed sacks. She raised big gardens and enjoyed processing the food from the garden. Her favorite pastime was collecting and trying new recipes from books, magazines, newspapers, or TV. She was a fabulous cook and baker. Alice enjoyed being with family and friends. Her goal was to have fun!

Surviving are sons, Calvin, rural Lyndon, IL, and Roger, Albany, IL; daughter, Vicki (Harry) Stichter, rural Camanche; step grandson, Tony (Cathi) Stichter, DeWitt, and step granddaughter, Christy Lewis, Phoenix, AZ; four step great-grandchildren, and two step great-great-grandchildren; her sisters Helen Johnson, Eldridge, and Eleanor Wulf, Des Moines.

Preceding Alice in death were three infant sons, her husband, her parents, and brothers, William and Leonard Truelsen.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the service time of 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Alverno, Clinton, IA, or Immanuel Lutheran Church, Camanche, IA.
