Mrs. Eugenia Haynes Mitchell, wife of James Brainerd Mitchell, living at 4916 Forestville avenue, Chicago, formerly residing at 235 Seventh avenue, Clinton, passed away Sunday, September 2, 1917, at her Chicago home.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Clinton and for many years was an active member.

She was a woman of noble, Christian character, which showed in her every day life. With a great love and ever-enduring sympathy she became endeared to her many friends.

The deceased was born at Fulton, N.Y., March 19, 1855, removing to Albany, Ill. at an early age. She was there united in marriage to James Brainerd Mitchell. They afterward removed to Clinton, Iowa, where they lived for many years. Her husband preceded her to the great beyond some 25 years ago.

Mrs. Mitchell removed to Chicago, Ill. in the fall of 1910 to make her home with her son, Maurice H. Mitchell, who is left to mourn her.

Other relatives in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Mitchell of Austin, Ill., Emma Leta Mitchell of Beresford, Fla.

Those unable to attend were two sisters, Mrs. A. W. Stoneburg of Fulton, N.Y. and Mrs. M. E. Ellis of San Jose, Calif.

The funeral services were held in Chicago Tuesday, September 4. The body was removed to Clinton, Iowa, burial in Springdale, beside the body of her husband.
