The funeral of Marcellus D. Myers of Elvira was held this afternoon from the late home. The Rev. H. J. Bell of the United Presbyterian church officiated and burial was made in Elmwood cemetery at DeWitt.

The deceased was born in Ovid, Seneca county, New York, in 1854. Until two years ago he had been engaged in business at DeWitt, Ia., but since then had operated a general store at Elvira.

Surviving to mourn his death are the wife, a mother, Mrs. Mary F. Myers of Elvira, four sons, M. J. Myers of Delmar Junction, F. L. Myers of Flint, Mich., Ray Meyers, Elvira, W. S. Myers of DeWitt; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Bellham, Maquoketa, Ia., and Oscar Peterson of Charlotte, Ia., and six grandchildren.

The funeral of the late M. O. Meyers was held Wednesday afternoon from the Presbyterian church of Elvira and the remains were brought to DeWitt for burial in Elmwood cemetery. Mrs. F. J. Miller and Mrs. W. S. Saltmarsh furnished appropriate music and Rev. Bell conducted the services. Those who acted as pall bearers were the four sons and two sons-in0law of the deceased: Mert Meyers, Fred Meyers, Will Meyers, Ray Meyers, and Roy Pelham and Mr. Petersen.

Mr. Meyers was 64 years of age. He was a resident of this place until a few years ago, when he went to Charlotte and later to Elvira to reside. A wife and the following children survive: M. J. Meyers of Delmar, Mrs. Roy Pelham of Maquoketa, Fred Meyers of Flint, Michigan, Mrs. Christina Petersen of Charlotte, Will Meyers of DeWitt and Ray of Elvira.
