Funeral services for the late Engineer William Thompson were held at the family home, 423 Fourteenth avenue, at 2 o'clock this afternoon followed by interment in Springdale cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. M. J. Locke, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church. The pall bearers, who are all members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, were H. Barron, John Kuchel, P. Disher, H. Kearns, William Hillinger and T. Johnson. The funeral was in charge of the Engineers.

Mr. Thompson, whose death was caused by tetanus, was born in Clinton on August 4, 1851, and spent most of his life in this city. He was a long-time employe of the Chicago & Northwestern, and worked for that company in the capacity of engineer for 18 years. He is survived by his wife and four children, Ellen, June, William and James; also by four sisters, Mrs. F. A. Leese of this city, Mrs. A. M. Thompson and Mrs. A. Leese of Chicago, and Mrs. Gussie Shockey of Camanche.
