HOLD UP MAN GETS AWAY
Friends in This City Will Be Shocked to Hear of His Death--Was Former Lyons Boy
Earl Polly, a former Lyons boy, well known here, was shot and fatally killed Thursday, June 20th, at Keyes, California, by a lone bank robber. The Medford, Ore. paper has the following regarding the shooting:
Earl Polly, formerly employed in the Farmers' and Fruit Growers' bank at Medford, was fatally shot at Keyes, Cal. Thursday, June 20th, at noon by a lone bank robber, who made his escape in an automobile, followed by a posse of citizens.

Polly was eating his lunch when the bandit entered the bank. Soon afterwards the bandit was seen to rush out of the bank, jump into an automobile and hurry away. No other person was in the bank at the time.

Mr. Polly was manager of the bank and only the day before entered upon his new employment. He had been with the Commercial bank in Turlock for four years. His home was in Turlock, only a few miles away, where he leaves a widow. He also leaves one brother, J. H. Polly, in Medford, Ore. and one sister, Mrs. J. J. Boland, in Weed, Cal.

The many friends of Earl Polly of this city will be shocked to hear the news of his death.
