Mrs. Bertha Lena Carstens died at Agatha hospital Saturday evening, at 6:40 o'clock.

Mrs. Carstens, nee Miss Bertha Lena Rofsway, was born Oct. 14, 1877, in Benton county, Ia. On September 25, 1907 she was married to C. N. Carstens of this city. She had no children.

Left to mourn her death besides her husband are: a father, also of Belle Plaine, Ia.; three brothers, Jacob, Samuel and George Rofsway, also of Belle Plaine; and four sisters, Mrs. Rose Hansen, Belle Plaine; Mrs. Josie Wood, Van Horn, Ia.; Mrs. Eva Jenks, Hammond, Ind. and Mrs. Emma Carstens of this city.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence at 1018 Liberty street. The Rev. J. S. Leamer of St. Paul's Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be made at Springdale cemetery.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. C. N. Carstens were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home at 1018 Liberty street. The Rev. J. S. Leamer of St. Paul's Lutheran church officiated and burial was made in Springdale cemetery.

The pallbearers for the deceased were her six nephews, Leonard, George and Jacob Howland, Tom Carstens, Bert Tarner and Henry Lohndorf.

Out-of-town relatives and friends present were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rofsway, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hansen, Samuel and George Rofsway, all of Belle Plaine, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wood, Van Horn, Ia.; Mrs. Eva Jenks, of Hammond, Ind.; Mrs. Anna Rabbie of Grand Mound, Ia.; Mrs. Anna Carstens, of Davenport, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reynolds and Miss Crea Carstens, of Elvira, Ia.
