The deceased was born and spent practically his whole life in Clinton. November 16, 1883 was the day of his nativity, his age being 34 years.

He was educated in the Clinton schools, graduating from the High school, and from the Clinton Business college. Mr. Ireland was united in marriage in 1904 to Miss Alma Hullinger of this city, who survives him. Up to the time of the illness which compelled his retirement from active business life, he was an efficient and valued employe of the City National bank. He was consistent member of the First Methodist Episcopal church, and was identified with the Wapsipinicon club, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Western Star lodge, A.F. and A.M.

Besides his wife, Mr. Ireland is survived by his father, M. J. Ireland of Cedar Rapids, and two brothers, J. E. Ireland of Rock Island, and C. H. Ireland of Anamosa, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. M. J. Locke, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, assisting Rev. George R. Cady of the First Congregational church in the service. Interment will be in Springdale cemetery.

Mr. Ireland's illness extended over a period of many months, although he had been confined to his bed only a few days before the final summons came. He was a patient sufferer in his affliction, maintaining his cheerfulness to the last. Of a most kindly and genial disposition, the young Clinton man whose untimely death occurred this morning was loved by all who knew him, and his demise bring sincere sorrow to a wide circle of friends in Clinton and vicinity.
