Henry Sweet, Sr., an old resident of Clinton county, passed away at his home, 703 Camanche avenue, at 5:40 this morning after an illness of several months' duration. Death was caused by complications incident to old age. Mr. Sweet was 84 years of age, and had been a resident of this county ever since the 60's.

The deceased was a native of Germany, having been born at Fanon, Germany, and in early manhood migrated to Canada, where he lived for a number of years. During the 6o's he came to Iowa, settling on a farm near DeWitt.

Surviving him are his wife, three sons, Ed of near Storm Lake, Ia.; Frank at home, and Henry, residing on the old homestead near DeWitt; four grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Hill, residing on Iowa avenue.

The body will be taken from the home on Camanche avenue, with a short prayer service at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. The funeral will be held from the old farm home near DeWitt at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, May 19, with burial in Cherrywood cemetery. The Rev. Schluesselman of Clinton will officiate.
