Hans Osterborg died this morning at 2:30 o'clock of typhoidpneumonia at his home in North DeWitt, after an illness of several weeks duration. Deceased was born in Denmark and had lived in DeWitt and vicinity for a great many years, where he was highly respected. His wife preceded him in death several months ago. He is survived by several grown-up sons and daughters.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Funeral services for the late Hans Oesterborg were held at the residence in North DeWitt yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Reverend Mitchell of the M.E. church officiating. Appropriate vocal music was given by Mr. Mitchell and Mrs. Saltmarsh. At the grave in Elmwood the Odd Fellows conducted the burial services. The pall bearers were L. L. Levsen, Fred Hansen, W. H. Large, Alf Gostick, J. A. Hannom and Frank LaFevre.

Hans Oesterborg was born at Denmark, February 6th, 1851, and came to this country in 1870 to Clinton, Ia., where he was married to Miss Martha Carlson Feb. 12, 1872. Here they lived for six years, when they moved to a farm near Low Moor where they resided for two years. They then moved to a farm north of DeWitt and later purchased the one where they made their home until thirteen years ago last fall, when they retired to DeWitt and lived here until March 4th of this year, when his wife preceded him in death.

Eight children survive to mourn his untimely death. They are: Mrs. Will Kuehn, Mrs. Will Smith, Mrs. Henry Gluessing, Charley Oesterborg, Mrs. George Newmarch, Elmer Oesterborg, Mrs. Aaron Cousins, all of whom live in the vicinity of DeWitt and Low Moore, and Mrs. Will Galitz of Fredora, S.D.

He also leaves twenty-one grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was always a kind and devoted father and will be greatly missed by all.
