Arthur E. Thoms, 68, of 1320 N. 2nd St., died suddenly in his home Saturday evening. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Shadduck funeral home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Donald Forbes, pastor of Lyons Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be members of the Lyons Ex-servicemen's association, William Garlock, Edward Hilgendorf, W.A. McCullough, Leroy Rockrohr, Edward Wielage and A.C. Petersen. the presentation fo the flag will be by W.A. McCullough and Leroy Petersen. Members of the association will meet at the funeral home today at 7 p.m.

Arthur Emil Thoms was born April 13, 1899 in Clinton, the son of Herman and Louise Windle Thoms. He attended local schools and was a veteran of World War I, serving in France. He married Leone Jackson July 13, 1921 in Cambridge, Ill. He was employed by Schick hospital which later became the Veterans Domiciliary, and retired in 1962. He was a charter member and past commander of the Lyons Ex-servicemen's Post I. He was confirmed in Zion Lutheran church and was a member of the Lyons Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Betty) Kratz of Clinton; six sons, Robert of Shawnee Mission, Kan., Donald of Orange, Calif., Jackson, Gary and Richard of Clinton, and William of Kenslow Air Force Base, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Sullivan, and Mrs. Einor Johnson.
