Camanche, Ia., May 12--Mrs. Pearl Platt, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Platt, was born in Camanche, Iowa, Aug. 2, 1895, passed away Sunday morning, May 6, 1917, at her home here, after an illness of nine weeks with rheumatism. Two years ago Pearl united with the M.E. church of this city. She was a bright and loving girl and will be sadly missed by her relatives and friends.

She leaves to mourn her death besides her parents, a younger brother, Walter Platt, and baby sister, Mary; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Peas of Lynville, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. James Platt of this city, also other relatives. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. church, Rev. Morton pastor of the church, officiating, and Mrs. Tailman and Mrs. Holmes in charges of the singing. The school was dismissed so all her schoolmates could attend. A large number of relatives and friends were present and followed the remains to Rose Hill cemetery. The following girls acted as pallbearers: Ines Gordon, Dora Gordon, Marion Horton, Alice Blakley, Etta Thompson and Hazel Berger. The floral offerings were very beautiful.
