The funeral of the late Mrs. T. F. Reed was held Saturday morning at St. Joseph's church. The services were conducted by Reverend J. J. Nelson and Rev. Lawlor of DeWitt, Rev. Riordon of Grand Mound and Rev. Clancy of Fulton. Many friends were present to pay their last tribute of respect to Mrs. Reed. The pall bearers were Messrs. John Cavanaugh, John Moore, M. F. Kelly, Jas. Dignan, T. W. Kelly and Henry Seifer. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mary Ellen Coffey was born August 10, 1863, near Anamosa, and came with her parents to a farm near Albany, Ill. when a child, and in young womanhood came to DeWitt with her sister, now Mrs. Frank Thornton of Welton and conducted a dress making shop here. On August 19, 1890, she was united in marriage at her home in Albany to T. F. Reed, of DeWitt, and came at once to DeWitt to reside. About eight years ago Mrs. Reed suffered a stroke of apoplexy and had not been in good health for some time, although her death was unexpected, as she was not considered seriously ill until about two hours before she passed away. Every good cause had her support and sympathy, and in her home where she was a good wife and mother, the influence of her presence will be missed. Deceased is survived by her husband, and three children, two daughters, Misses Ella and Veronica, and one son, Edward. Also four sisters, Mrs. Frank Thornton of Welton, Mrs. Bert Steele of Rock Island, and the Misses Emma and Bessie Coffey of Albany; two brothers, John Coffey of Welton and Will of Albany.
