Calamus, Ia., April 30--Saturday evening at about 8 o'clock, while Mrs. Adolph Wendel of this place was refilling an angle kerosene lamp, her clothing took fire and she was so badly burned that she died at 2 o'clock Sunday morning.

She was about 65 years old and was alone at the time of the accident, her husband being down town after the mail.
