Mrs. Sam J. Jordan passed away at her home, 638 Sixth avenue, this afternoon just as the ADVERTISER was going to press.

Sudden death summoned to her eternal sleep Mrs. Sam J. Jordan, 44 years old, Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at her home, 648 Sixth avenue.
Mrs. Jordan was in the best of health, and was overseeing some repair work on their newly-purchased home when the call came. Apoplexy of the brain is said to have been the cause.
The body was removed to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ray, 843 Sixth avenue, where it will lie in state until the funeral service.
Mrs. Sam Jordan was born and raised in Clinton. She was graduated from the Lyons High school, and was married to Mr. Jordan October 21, 1901. She had many friends in every walk of life, and was a woman whose confidence and esteem were of great value. Her death came as a shock to hundreds of Clinton friends, in church and social circles.
She was a charter member of the Dorcas society, an active worker in the Woman's club and in the Boat Club auxiliary.
Besides her husband four sisters are left to mourn Mrs. Jordan's early death. They are Mrs. William Mathies, Mrs. Edith Filkens, Mrs. Frank Burke and Mrs. Charles Burr, all of Chicago. They arrived in Clinton this afternoon.
The funeral will be held at the home of Mr. Jordan's aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Jordan, 713 Camanche avenue, Thursday afternoon. Dean F. H. Burrell of St. John's church will officiate. The hour is set for 2:00 o'clock.

The funeral of Mrs. Sam Jordan, who died suddenly while busy about the house Monday afternoon, will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Jordan, 713 Camanche avenue, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The body lies at the home of Harry Ray, 843 Sixth avenue, and will not be removed until Thursday morning.
An automobile funeral procession will move from the house to Springdale. Dr. F. H. Burrell will be the officiating pastor.

Mrs. Sam J. Jordan was buried this afternoon in Springdale cemetery after funeral services at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Jordan, 713 Camanche avenue.
The Rev. F. H. Burrell of St. John's Episcopal church was the officiating pastor. The pallbearers were Harry Ray, Richard Stewart, T. I. McLane, Dr. J. H. Spence, George Spalding and Hal Easterly.
From out of the city attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. William Matties, Chicago; Mrs. Edith Filkens, Chicago; Mrs. Frank Burke, Chicago; Mrs. Charles Burr, Chicago; Mr. Jordan, brother of S. J. Jordan, Sioux City.
