Shirley Mae Bogle, 86, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Saturday evening, August 3, 2019, in her home.

Shirley Mae Bowers Bogle was born December 27, 1932 in Peoria, Illinois to Truman "T.A." and Oma (Raines) Bowers. She was a graduate of Moulton High School. Shirley was a homemaker all of her life, lovingly caring for her seven children. She resided in various towns in Illinois and Iowa, prior to moving to rural DeWitt.

She loved flower gardening, cooking and canning. Shirley found great joy in time spent with her family.

Surviving are children, DeAnn Stone and Oma Fuegen of DeWitt, Shirley "Cathy" Bogle of Cowpens, South Carolina, Lisa (David, Sr.) Heady of Eddyville and Timothy Bogle of Wisconsin; a daughter-in-law, Susan Bogle of Cherry Valley, Illinois; a grandson whom Shirley raised, Thomas Johnston of Texas; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Peter) Simaitis of Rockford, Illinois, and Delores Williams of Plano, Texas; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Shirley in death were a son, Randy Bogle, her parents, a granddaughter, Suzanne Williams and a great-grandson, Isaac Linzer.

A graveside service will be held at a 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Highland Cemetery, Eddyville, Iowa, with Pastor Roger Henry officiating.
