Car Inspector Killed
Martin Ryan, car inspector for thirty-eight years for the Chicago and Northwestern railroad was killed instantly in the Clinton yards. His body was cut in halves by the switching cars.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Saint Mary’s Cemetery and was born in 1844.
